Ghanaian boxer cum chef, Seth Gyimah, well known as Freezy Mcbones has switched his nationality from Ghana to the United Kingdom (UK).

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) President, Abraham Neequaye disclosed that Freezy Mcbones made the nationality switch before entering into the world of boxing.

According to Abraham Neequaye, Freezy Mcbones came for a licence from the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) when he wanted to venture into boxing but later changed to fight as a UK national at the last minute.

“We sent him a message. And they can check it from Freezy himself. Before he fought in the UK, he came to Ghana to get a Ghana Boxing Authority license. He came for our license but when he wanted to fight and they wanted to get a release letter from us, he changed it to fight for the British. He was supposed to come for a release letter from us but he said he wanted to fight as UK national.”

The GBA President added ; “If the person has our licence and he wants to fight and then puts our licence down and picks another licence to fight under that licence, how do you expect me to go and beg this young gentleman to come, no. We have a lot of boxers here that we need to develop,” Abraham Neequaye said.

Freezy first caught the country’s attention in April following his victory over Darryl Sharp at the Copper Boxing Arena in London.
