Award winning artiste, Rapper Lasmid Kela has left his longtime record label Highly Spiritual Music after nearly 4 years.

‘Friday Night’ hitmaker has been with Kaywa’s label after coming off as the winner of the 2019 edition of the MTN Hitmaker, a music competition that seeks to unearth the next superstar.

The CEO of the Highly Spiritual Music label Kaywa has confirmed on ShowTym with Andy Dosty on Sunday, June 4, 2023, Lasmid Kela left the label.

According to him, The conversation with Lasmid has been a back and forth but it was way before the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Kaywa said Lasmid started trumpeting ‘I want to go, I want to go’ a long time ago. There is a back story but I wouldn’t wanna make it public but everything will unveil itself at the right time.

It has been alleged that Lasmid wanted 50 50 split with the label and decided to leave after all efforts to get that failed.

After 4 years of working with Kaywa, Lasmid Kela has decided to jump ship and switch labels by being on his own, Amazingtv.live has learned.

Lasmid won his first award at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. He was awarded the Best Hiplife Song of the year with his most popular song “Friday Night” which shot his music career to prominence.

Lasmid’s “Friday Night” which was released in 2022 became one of the most trended songs on the streets and on all musical musical platforms.
